The International Organization for Secure Commerce, as a professional organization, draws on its membership to staff its committees.  The only requirement for membership in a committee is being an IOSC member in good standing.  Committee chairs are elected by each committee and approved by the board of directors.  Each committee is responsible for oversight of a specific area of IOSC activities, and is expected to communicate findings and suggestions to the board of directors on a regular basis.  If your are interested in serving on one of the committees listed below please contact the IOSC.

Membership

The membership committee is reponsible for setting and reviewing membership requirements, oversight of the member application review process, and activities designed to recruit new members and retain existing members.

Standards

The standards committee works on the development and review of the Secure Commerce Protocols, the IOSC's security standards.  This committee is expected to have sub-committees to address each of the 10 security domains in the protocols.  Suggestions for protocol updates made by the committee are reviewed by the board of directors and IOSC members at large before being adopted into the next revision of the protocols.

Education

The education committee has oversight of the education program.  This includes the content and sylabi of each standard course and the materials used to train master instructors and examiners.  The education committee must also make sure that revisions made to the Secure Commerce Protocols are reflected in the education program.  Suggestions made by the committee are reviewed byt he board of directors before being adopted into the standard curriculum.

Certification

The certification committee is responsible for maintaining the integrity, cosistency and value of the professional and facilty certifications offered by the IOSC.  Certification requirements, audits of certified individuals and facilities, and the certification approval process all fall under the oversight of this committee.

Marketing

The marketing committee works on marketing and publisity for the organization.  This incluides oversight of advertising, press releases, oganization of recruiting drives, and taking care of the annual conference and award ceremonies.  Members of the marketing committee also contribute to the development of marketing capital such as brochures, email marketing and this web site.
